Cambridge Debt Advisors

Cambridge Debt Advisors is an institutional investment advisory firm that specializes in exotic debt instruments

Company History

Cambridge Debt Advisors (CDA) was started in 2005 as an institutional investment advisory firm specializing in structured debt. The company was founded by several collateralized debt obligation (CDO) professionals from Fieldstone Capital Group to meet the demand of various institutional clients that relied heavily on the team’s expertise for their own trading activities. Over time, it became apparent to clients that the more efficient method of tapping into the group’s expertise was to align interests and hire the team as sub–advisors on their CDO portfolios. From there, CDA was formed and has since expanded to include advisory services for a broader range of structured debt instruments.

The principals of CDA have been working together since 1996, originally at Schroder & Co. After leaving Schroders to pursue various opportunities independently, they rejoined in 2002 to form Fieldstone Capital Group, the sales & trading arm of Fieldstone Inc, a 16 year old investment banking boutique specializing in energy and infrastructure advisory.

At Fieldstone, the CDA team specialized in secondary market CDO sales, trading, valuation, and research services. The group established Fieldstone as an independent, credible source, offering global capabilities in the areas of structured products, asset–backed securities, high–yield debt, distressed debt, special situations, and trade finance.

Since leaving Fieldstone in March 2011, the Team has been working on reestablishing its presence in the secondary markets (within a Broker-Dealer), while continuing to service its advisory clients.
